And so far, everything looks pretty good. We have machine that small groove on top. If we hide the body, you can see here that we've cut it away. So, you can see that we've actually cut away more. It was modeled at four and a half millimeters and we tapped five. But because this is a fixture that doesn't really affect us too much, you can see that we've tapped the hole. We haven't cut the outside contour of the stock. You can see that we've taken the boss down to its final size. We're going to speed this up just a little bit and you can see that as it gets closer, the boss had start to work its way around. So, it's cutting a millimeter off the top and we can get a preview of the geometry inside here. Let's carry on with a file from our previous example and let's take a look at simulating what we've done so far. After completing this lesson, you'll be able to simulate a CNC program. In this lesson, we'll be simulating a CNC program. Looking for Autodesk Fusion 360 certification prep courses? This knowledge translates directly to part design by helping make intelligent design decisions with manufacturing in mind. Even if you are not the end user who programs a machine, it is invaluable to know how it’s done. Understanding both CAD and CAM is essential to this portion of a design. Now, can that product be manufactured? A CNC machinist works with computer numeric controlled (CNC) machines from generating the machine code to machine setup and run. Designing a product is only part of the process.
